Purpose
Every city and town must have a Board of Registrars or an Election Commission whose responsibilities include registering voters, maintaining local voter lists, certifying nomination papers and petitions, processing absentee voter applications, and administering election recounts. The Town Clerk, as a member of the Board, conducts many of these duties.
The polling place for West Tisbury is the Public Safety Building (Station 2) located at 454 State Rd. Polling hours for all elections are 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Vote-by-Mail is now available to registered voters for all elections. Each year, you will receive an application from either the Town Clerk or the state. If you wish to receive a ballot by mail, fill it out (be sure to read all the directions carefully) and return it to the office.
For primary elections, there will be one week of in-person early voting before the elections. For the general election, it will be two weeks. The hours will be set as required by state law. There will be no in-person early voting for the town election. Vote-By-Mail is available for ALL elections.
